I absolutely adore your website Would
it be possible for you to create a boy angel for my nephew? He was born with
spina bifida. Let me tell you a little about him before you decide. When my
sister was pregnant she found out the baby had spina bifida. She had to live in
Philadelphia in the Ronald McDonald House away from her husband and other kids
so she could be near the hospital where they specialized in in-utero surgery on
spina bifida babies. She was on complete bed rest from about 4 months of
pregnancy until the baby would be taken by C-section between 35-40 weeks
gestation. During these months I often went to stay with her and take her to her
appointments and just to keep her company. She and a few other mothers went
through a lot to get those babies here. She lost her placental fluid 2 times and
they had to put fluid back in through a amniocentesis needle, which from
personal experience is a horror to watch. She went through one surgery where
they opened her up, took out her uterus, cut into the uterus to find my nephew’s
lower spine where the spina bifida was starting and operated on him to close the
opening. They then put everything back and closed her up. At about 37 weeks my
nephew was finally born by C-section and was small and had to be in an incubator
for about a month. During this time my sister never left Philadelphia because
she wanted to be near him. She had spent a total of close to 5 months in Philly
away from her family by this time. This little baby was the apple of my eye
right from the beginning. When he came home I stayed a week at my sister’s to
help her recovery from surgery and to tend to my nephew. I would often rock him
and sing to him while feeding him, etc. My nephew is now 5 years old and has the
warmest personality I have ever seen in anyone! Amazingly he can walk, although
with a limp, and will have to undergo many more surgeries to correct problem
with his tendons in his feet and with his hip joints, but this child perseveres
and never gets down about anything. He is always cheering everyone else up. He
is very open with his hugs and kisses even to strangers and is a joy to be
around.
I would love it if you could create one for
him and now that I read the above story of how he got here I would love one for
my sister too because she is a true angel going through what she did to bring my
nephew into the world.
