Life comes at you fast, I hope you'll all be ready . . .
You've heard the saying, "Live every day, like it was your
last day on earth" but do we really completely comprehend what that means?
If you take a few moments to really think about these words, what if you
were in a fatal car accident this afternoon, have you been living and acting
in a way that would be pleasing to our Father? What about your friends
and family members left behind? Would they have the comfort of knowing
that they would meet you again in heaven? I hope so.
After attending a funeral for the son of my dear friends,
I walked away although sad for the family, so happy for the son. He
lived his life as a perfect example of Jesus. Now he was not perfect,
but he came as close as any human being can. There is absolutely no
doubt that we will see him again in heaven. His funeral was a
beautiful tribute to his life dedicated to Jesus and serving others.
This young man just radiated God's love and it was contagious.
As a senior in High School, he had an assignment in
English class to prepare an "ABC" book. The students were to describe
themselves with a word beginning with each letter of the alphabet.
Each letter went on a separate page and each word was accompanied with a
picture. For the letter "G", this young man wrote "God is a
large part of my life." Then he went back and crossed out "a large
part of" so that the sentence then read "God is my life" and that is how he
lived.
When he was younger, his mom gave him a frog and told him
to keep it with him always. She told him that the frog was his
constant reminder to Fully
Rely On
God. He kept that frog with him, even
took it to college. His little brother carried it to his funeral.
I can tell you without any doubt, "When we all get to
Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be!!!"
