Blue
Suede Shoes Angel Pin
Designed by request of a friend of the family.
Can you design an angel for my friend, who just lost her mother after a
brief illness, rather unexpected. I asked her for some information about her
mom so you could design one of your special pins for her. My mom was a
very exceptional woman. She was the kind of person who did great things
very quietly and didn't want to be praised for it. It was just her nature
to do things to show that she cared about her family and friends. She
started out with 18 brothers and sisters and only has 6 left. I think it
was the fact that she came from such a large, poor family that caused her to
make people her priority in life. She cared for my grandma (her
mother-in-law) for many years until she passed away, for my uncle until he
survived cancer, her best friend until she died from cancer, my aunt until
she got better, and her second husband until he died from cancer. As a
nurse's aide, she cared for many elderly people until they passed away.
She was always so great with her patients that many of their families still
kept in touch with her after the person died. Anyway, I'm rambling on!
It's one of those rare moments when I am thinking about her without crying!
:) I miss her every day.
Things she was known for, baking her many fabulous cookies (we would deliver heaping trays
of them to her family on Christmas Eve), pies, bread,
cooking especially spaghetti--she would invite about 60-70 of her
"immediate" family to the community room in her building and make
spaghetti dinner, complete with homemade bread and pies, for the entire
group!
taking care of people who were sick, she was a nurse's aid for a
few years but mostly she just took care of her family and friends until
they died or got better. Some of her favorite things, she LOVED and
collected anything with Elvis! Engraving is available on this design. (limit 5 characters, please) Be sure to put engraving
instructions in the comment section of the order form. If no instructions
are included, the angel will be shipped without engraving. |
