This angel was a winner
of the January "Name the Angel Contest".
The
January angel is just beautiful. It reminds me of my precious little cousin,
Kristi, who passed away on Jan. 8, 2004.. The heart of the angel has the "strips
of gold".. Kristi had scleroderma and it hardened her internal organs.. The
strips of gold in the heart seem to be in a sense, parts of the heart as they
harden or set.. Kristi had a heart of gold and loved with her entire being. The
halo seems to be just a little crooked, and as we all are, no matter how good we
are, there are times we just can't be "perfect". Kristi had faith in God and
and lived a Christian life, but she had that little "streak" of mischief. She
could say or do something and smile with that little smirky smile.. and the
pearl, being the product of years in the making inside the oyster. Kristi didn't
have all those years but in the short time she lived, she sure was a pearl.. and
the little angel has no legs or bottom to it.. Due to the disease, Kristi lost
three of her fingers and was in Houston for the amputation of two of her toes.
But yet, no matter how the doctors kept "whittling" away at her, she was a
beautiful person with a heart of gold.. I know when she closed her eyes in
death, she was met by my son Kevin and by her Lord and Savior...
