Allison Angel Pin

This angel was our 2nd May, 2011 Name the Angel Pin Contest.  Here's the entry that won the contest. . .

This is the perfect Angel pin to be named Allison. When I saw the pin, I immediately thought of her as she loved, loved the beach and that is what I thought of when I saw the flip flop. Allison was a girly girl, a sweet girl; my nephew's girlfriend. She was a Math Major and was just starting to work on her Master's Degree when she fell ill in April of 2010. Allison was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. She fought a hard, courageous fight of which she lost in March of 2011 at the age of 23. She was so gracious too . . . thanking all who cared for her right till the end. At Allison’s wake an Aunt sent flowers in the shape of a flip flop and at her funeral, stories were shared of Allison trips to the beach. She had flip flops to match every outfit. Allison’s last beach vacation, summer of 2010, was at Seaside Heights, NJ. With summer quickly approaching, family and friends are going to feel a great absence as they plan their summer vacations at the beach. Wearing this pin, I am sure, maybe just what they need to feel Allison’s presence. A pin named Allison would mean so much to her Mother and I hope to be able to give it to her.
